Why Take Part?
FOR YOUR WELLBEING
Walking is a great form of exercise to improve not only your physical health but also your mental well-being! Exercise of any kind will help to strengthen your heart and boost your mood.
FOR COMMUNITY CONNECTION
Help the London Irish Community to raise £25,000 whilst focusing yourself to be part of a 50,000-mile challenge, giving you something to aim for and something to focus on. If you walk 6,600 steps each and every day you will have walked a massive 100 miles a month.
What an achievement that would be!
FOR A GREAT CAUSE
With every pound you raise, you are helping the Irish Heart of London to care for our community along with helping us to promote Irish art, culture, and heritage.
QUOTES FROM OUR PATRONS & ARTISTS
The best way to support artists is to pay them, which is what the Centre wants to do. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to artists. I love what the Centre does, I've played there many special nights and seen first-hand the great community work they do.

Since its inception in 1954 the LIC have worked tirelessly in service of the Irish community. As the nature of the community has changed, the LIC has adapted and responded to new challenges. It is initiatives like these which will allow the centre to grow and to flourish - – and to continue to be a vital resource for north London, the wider Irish community and indeed for Ireland. Ar aghaidh leis an gceol.

I love what the London Irish Centre does in terms of being at the heart of championing Irish community and culture in London. We had an amazing concert back in 2018 and I can’t wait to return.

It was a joy to be part of Solas season and to have an opportunity to speak to others about what hope means at a time when we are facing a global crisis but also taking collective action to support one another. The last public reading I did of my book was at the London Irish Centre and Solas Season recreated that strong sense of community space, even if it was virtual, allowing people to connect across distances.

The development of the London Irish Centre will support the thriving Irish community in London and ensure that the space continues to serve as a Centre of excellence, providing an inspirational exemplar of how a migrant group has become an integral part of the capital whilst maintaining strong connections to their heritage.

I’m very proud of my Irish heritage. I’m looking forward to helping LIC both promote Irish culture and to help them with their equally important role of helping the vulnerable.
